This wooden Laminex chair offers a far more sober appearance.

Jens Nielsen graduated from high school in 1956. He studied at the University of Copenhagen from 1956 to 1957.
From 1958 to 1964 he studied architecture at the School of Architecture at the Art Academy.
Nielsen graduated in 1964 having specialized in the field of industrial design. He published several articles about architecture and industrial design in Danish and foreign newspapers and technical periodicals. He did a lot of work as a manager of design exhibitions in Denmark and abroad. Nielsen was a member of the Danish Design Group in the Council of Industry from 1975 till 1977.
Also, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Danish Council of Design from 1977.
In 1996 a book was published painting a picture of the many other sides to Jens Nielsen. Apart from being a co-founder of the Danish Design Council, he was one of the creative forces behind the design of the DSB, (Danish State Railways), and the IC3 train. Through his work, Jens Nielsen linked management, quality, and design.
