Poul Cadovius (27 september 1911 – march 2011) architect, boatbuilder and also very well known as a leading designer of furniture, notably the ‘Royal System’ and ‘System Cado’ shelving solutions in the 1960’s. Cadovius was also a famous Danish interior architect and was founder of the CADO Company in the late 1950’s. In 1964, CADO took over France & Son Manufacture which was one of Denmark ́s greatest makers of furniture. CADO collaborated with a number of acclaimed designers such as Finn Juhl, Steen Östergaard. CADO manufactured a series of original plastic (polyamide) chairs in white, black dated 1970, which have become design classics.
Cirkelhuset. Poul Cadovius most important architectural design was conceived as an exhibition space for Danish designed furniture in its heyday in the 1970’s.
